It’s time to get your annual influenza vaccination.

It’s time to get protected from this year’s influenza strains, and get your annual influenza vaccination.

Going by the northern hemisphere’s season we could be in for a bad one, with H1N1 leading to severe disease and deaths in otherwise healthy adults and pregnant women.

Influenza vaccines are available free for the over 65s, pregnant women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over 15 years old, pregnant women, and anyone over 6 months old with a chronic medical condition (such as asthma).

If you’re not in one of those groups, you can still get yourself protected for a small cost, and then also know that you are helping to reduce the spread of disease to the especially vulnerable.

For more information, see your GP, immunisation nurse, or have a read of this.
