Cases of measles have been reported in the Northern Rivers. The low immunisation rates in the region mean we are all at risk of epidemics of this contagious disease.
Note;
Only 1 of the 69 cases of measles identified this year in Australia has been fully vaccinated, all other cases were either unvaccinated, inadequately vaccinated (only one dose given), or their status is unknown. This is on track with the population statistics which say that two doses of MMR lead to 99% of the population being immune.
